Cass Pioneer Dies at Her Home in Wiota Saturday

Mrs. Anna Ehrman, 74, pioneer of Cass county and wife of Fred Ehrman of Wiota, died Saturday evening at 7:40 at her home following a stoke of apoplexy which she suffered last Monday evening.

Mrs. Ehrman was born in Peru, Ill., March 1, 1859, the daughter of Gerhardt and Elizabeth Richter. She grew to womanhood in Peru. She came to Wiota St. Patrick’s day, 1876, and had lived there since. November 5, 1878 she maried [married] Fred Ehrman in Atlantic. Mrs. Ehrman was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Wiota.

Seven Children

She is survived by her husband and seven children: Mrs. Henry Mailander, Holyoke, Colo.; Mrs. Will Mailander, Wiota; Theodore Ehrman, Wiota [,]; Mrs. Ray McConnell, Haxtum, Colo.; Fred Ehrman, Anita, and Misses Elizabeth and Susie Ehrman, at home. Twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock at the Wiota Catholic church. The Rev. M. J. O’Connor officiated and burial was in the Wiota Catholic cemetery.
