HEART ATTACK FATAL TO WELL KNOWN SHELBY MAN SUNDAY

Benjamin Jonas Harris, well known Shelby man, died at his home, six miles west of Marne, in Clay township, at 11:40 Sunday morning from a heart attack. He came to Shelby county when a small bay [boy] and had made his home there since.

Mr. Harris was born May 23, 1864, in Indiana, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Harris. At the age of 13 he moved with his parents to Shelby county, where he had made his home since. He was married Sept. 22, 1886, to Emma Hildebrand, who passed away Sept. 26, 1916.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George Mutum, of Walnut, and one son, Orley, whom he had made his home with for several years. One son, Glen, died in infancy.

Mr. Harris was a member of the A. O. U. W.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Monroe church, the Rev. J. W. Harwood of Walnut officiating, and burial will be in the Monroe cemetery.
