MRS. V. C. HEDRICK DIES LAST NIGHT AT CUMBERLAND

Mrs. Bertha Theresa Hedrick, 66, wife of Vernon C. Hedrick, died at midnight ast [last] night at her home in Cumberland, following an illness of two weeks.

She was born in the Buck Creek community north of Atlantic Sept. 3, 1881, the daughter of Wilson and Lydia Harris and grew to womanhood there. She was baptized in the Methodist church at the age of 12 and became a member of the Church of Christ in January, 1909. On Jan. 20, 1909, she was married at the Harris home to Vernon C. Hedrick, who survives.

Also surviving are two children, Donald C. Hedrick and Mrs. Lenore A. Jacobsen of Cumberland; three step-children, Lela, Bert and Dale Hedrick and two brothers, Lloyd and Ray Harris of Atlantic. A son, Loraine [Lorain} E. Hedrick, died May 6, 1940 and a daughter, Ruby Marie Hedrick, died Aug. 8, 1920.

Funeral arrangements are pending word from relatives. The remains will be at the Roland, Peacock & Baxter funeral home until the service hour.
