Mrs. Mary Jane Prall Dies Suddenly and Without Warning. Was Ill But Not “Serious.”
Mrs. Mary Jane Prall, wife of Columbus Prall, and one of the best known residents of the county, died suddenly and without warning about 8:30 o’clock this morning. Death was the result of a heart attack and followed an illness of but a few days. Relatives were shocked by the sudden snapping of the thread of life because her condition was not considered serious. The family physician was present when the end came. He was making an informal call and was astounded by the sudden tragedy.
Born in Philadelphia.
The deceased was born June 14, 1885, at Philadelphia, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Magee. She came to Cass county at the age of nine months with her parents, who located in Atlantic.
On April 9, 1877, she was united in marriage to Columbus Prall in Franklin township. Shortly after they moved to the present family home, where she lived for a period of 35 years.
Five Children
Beside the bereaved husband, five children are left to mourn their mother’s death. They are: George T. Prall, Des Moines; Mrs. Roy M. Peed, Earlham; A. D. Prall, at home; Rebecca Prall, at home; and Mrs. Clifton Acker, Grove township.
Mrs. B. F. Malone and Geo. W. Magee of Atlantic are sister and brother, respectively.
The deceased was a member of the Methodist church and numbered her friends by the score.
Funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of the children.
