Guy Butler, 55, Dies In Vets Hospital

Guy Allison Butler, 55 Atlantic World war I veteran, died at 10 o’clock this morning at the veterans hospital in Des Moines, where he had been a patient the last ten days. He had been in ill health the last three years.

Mr. Butler was born north of Atlantic in June, 1894, the son of John B. and Martha E. McFarland Butler and had lived here all of his life. He farmed in the Atlantic vicinity and was employed with the Malone Seed company until his health failed.

Surviving are his widow, the former Daisy Walker; two sons, Kenneth Butler of Wiota and Bernard Butler of Atlantic; three daughters, Mrs. Max Grinstead of Omaha, Shirley and Beverly Butler, at home; a brother, Dale Butler of Atlantic; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Just of Wiota and Myrtle and Opal Butler of Atlantic and four grandchildren.

The remains will be brought to the Roland, Peacock & Baxter funeral home tomorrow to lie in state until the funeral hour. Funeral arrangements are pending.
