PIONEER RESIDENT DIES THIS MORNING

Mrs. Sarah Ann Harris, 81 Years Old, Died at Her Home This Morning. Came to Cass County In 1858.

Mrs. Sarah Ann Harris, 81 years old, died at her home at 1401 Olive street this morning at 3 o’clock. She was one of the oldest living residents of Cass county. Death was the resut [result] of old age and uraemic poisoning.

Sarah Ann Fox daughter of William and Clarissa Fox, was born in Ohio April 5, 1835. She moved with her parents to Indiana and was married Dec 25, 1836 [Dec 23, 1853], to Charles W. Harris. They moved to Cass county in 1858 and took up a homestead near the present site of the Buck Creek church. They lived there until twelve years ago when they moved to Atlantic, where Mrs. Harris has lived ever since. Mrs. Harris joined the Methodist Episcopal church when a girl and was a consistent worker in the church all her life.

She leaves surviving her three sons. They are: Edwin F., Thomas M. and Charles W. Harris, all of whom live in Atlantic. Her husband died several years ago.

The funeral will be held at the Atlantic Methodist church Friday morning at 10:30. Interment will be made in the Atlantic cemetery.
