J. F. Karwal, 75, Dies Sunday at Salem Home

J. F. Karwal, 75, Cass county retired farmer, died at 4 o’clock Sunday morning at the Salem Invalid home in Elk [Horn], where he had been a patient since last Dec. 1. Mr. Karwal had been in failing health for several years.

He was born in Atlantic, Dec. 14, 1892, the son of Ferdinand and Ellen Karwal and was married to Maria E. Harris May 7, 1914. They farmed in the Atlantic vicinity until retiring and moving to Atlantic in 1946. He was associated with the Malone Seed company until his health failed.

Mrs. Karwal died April 18, 1950. Surviving are a son, Harold Karwal of Audubon; a brother, George Karwal of Elliott; a sister, Mrs. Armilda Schulman of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Roland funeral home, the Rev. Harold Smith officiating. The family will meet relatives and friends at the William Karwal home, 1508 Roosevelt drive, from 7:30 to 9 o’clock this evening. The casket will not be opened and burial will be in the Atlantic cemetery.
