GRANDMA HARRIS DIES THIS P. M.

One of the Pioneer Mothers of Cass County Passes Away after a Short Illness at Her Home on Buck Creek. Taken Sick Thanksgiving Morning.

Mrs. Harris, wife of Uncle Jimmy Harris, of Buck Creek, died at her home this afternoon after a short illness, she having been taken suddenly ill on Thanksgiving morning. The deceased was one of the old residents of Cass county and numbered her friends by the thousands. Notice of the funeral arrangements will be published in Monday’s issue.

Obituary.

Lydia D. Johnson was born in Wayne county, Indiana, on the 14th day of September, 1836, and at the time of her death was in the seventy-second year of her life. She was taken sick on November 26th, 1908, of hemorrhage of the brain, which over came her on the 28th of November. Deceased was converted to christianity in 1835 and joined the Methodist Episcopal church and lived a consistent christian life until the time of her death. She was united in marriage to James A. Harris, Oct. 31, 1856. They then removed to Cass county and have made this place their home continuously since that time. She is survived by her husband, James A. Harris, Wilson L. Harris, her stepson, and his family, Mrs. Al Harris of Marne, her adopted daughter and children, besides many other relatives and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss.
