Graveside services for Charles H. Acker, 88, of Chicago were held at the Atlantic cemetery Saturday afternoon, March 7, with Reverend Ray Nixon officiating. He passed away Feb. 28 in a Chicago hospital.

Mr. Acker was a former resident of Cass county and the uncle of Arleigh, Clarence, LeRoy, Clayton and Clifton Acker and their sister Mrs. Abbie Kitchen. He was the brother of the late Thaddews [Thaddeus] Acker and Mrs. Ed Harris of Atlantic. He was born in Martinsbuurg [Martinsburg], Pa., March 7, 1870, the son of George and Elizabeth Girt Acker and the last of 11 children.

NOTE FROM CONTRIBUTOR: Charles Acker was born March 7, 1870 and died February 25, 1959. The Anita Tribune above lists date of death as Feb. 28, but the Cook County, Illinois Death Record Index has Feb. 25.
