HAYWARD CONINE, AGED RESIDENT, DIES LAST NIGHT

Ira Hayward Conine, 76, well known Cass county farmer and resident of this county since 1870, died at his home north of Atlantic Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m., as the result of a stroke suffered last April.

Born May 17, 1864, in Findlay O., he was the son of Isaac G. and Rachel Todd Conine. He came to this county with his parents when a boy of 6, and has lived here since that time. He was married Feb. 28, 1889, to Mary Leona Harris. Mrs. Conine passed away March 3, 1938.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Alice Trainer of Atlantic, and Mrs. Katherine Lackey of Lewis. One brother, J. F. Conine, died March 10, 1923.

His nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Harris, have made their home with him the past 1 1/2 years, and have taken care of him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Roland, Peacock & Baxter funeral home, the Rev. C. J. Henderson of Marne officiating. Burial will be in the Atlantic cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the hour of the rites.
