‘Polly’ Crolley Succumbs Here Tuesday

Miss Mary Margaret (Polly) Crolley, 83, a longtime resident of Atlantic, died Tuesday afternoon at 5:45 at the Atlantic Memorial hospital, where she had been a patient since Oct. 5. She had been a patient at the Garnsey nursing home prior to entering the hospital.

Miss Crolley was born in Madison county July 28, 1870, the daughter of John and Margaret Hughes Crolley and lived on a farm southeast of Wiota until moving to Atlantic in 1928. She was the last surviving member of her family. Miss Crolley was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church and the Altar and Rosary society.

Surviving are eleven nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by four brothers, John, James, Charles and Frank Crolley, and two sisters, Katherine and Elizabeth Crolley.

Funeral services will be held at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church Friday at 9:30 a. m., Msgr P. N. McDermott officiating. The remains will be at the Roland funeral home, where the Rosary will be recited tonight and Thursday evening at 8 o’clock. Interment will be in the Atlantic Catholic cemetery.
