December 18, 1989George Clifton Acker, 94, of Camdenton, Mo., formerly of Atlantic, died Sunday, Dec. 17, at a hospital in Springfield, Mo.
The son of Thadous [Thaddeus] W. and Ida E. Noyer Acker, he was born July 6, 1895, in rural Atlantic and attended Turkey Grove No. 5 School.
He was married to Rossella A. Prall April 15, 1920, and they moved to Camdenton in 1968 after retiring from farming.
He was a 50-year member of the Masonic lodge of Atlantic, a member of the United Methodist Church in Camdenton and the Lions Club in Camdenton.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Janice Tidgren of Camdenton and her husband, Carl; a granddaughter, Jo Beth Tidgren of Camdenton; and a brother, LeRoy Acker of Atlantic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Arleigh, Clarence and his twin, William Clayton; and a sister Abbie Kitchen.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Camdenton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jim McCombs officiating.
Another service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Roland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kirk Stump of the First United Methodist Church here officiating. Interment will be In the Atlantic Cemetery.
