Guy L. Acker

Services for Guy L. Acker, 79, of 3848 E. Fourteenth st., will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dunn’s Funeral Home on Grand avenue, with burial at Woodland Cemetery.

Mr. Acker died Friday after a long illness. He was born in Atlantic and lived for 60 years in Des Moines. Before his illness, he had been employed as a cashier at the Y.M.C.A.

Mr. Acker was a member of the Moingona Masonic Lodge, the Des Moines Consistory, the Za Ga Zig Shrine, the United Commercial Travelers, the Manufactures Representatives Association and St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jean Mellon of McLean, Virginia, and two grandchildren. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
