MRS. A. T. SMITH DIES THIS NOON AT FAMILY HOME

Well Known and Long Time Resident Here Succumbs to Pneumonia. Ill Week.

Mrs. Luetta F. Smith, 60, wife of A. T. Smith, local mail carrier, died at 12:45 this afternoon at the family home, 1310 Birch street, after an illness of a week, death resulting from pneumonia. She had been bedfast since Tuesday.

Mrs. Smith had been a resident of Cass county for sixty years and of Atlantic for thirty-nine years and for many years was a member of the Methodist church here. She was born Sept. 11, 1870, in Jasper county, the daughter of William and Sarah M. Fudge, and was married to A T. Smith March 11, 1894, at the Methodist parsonage in Atlantic.

Four Children.

Surviving besides the husband are four children, five grand children, a sister and three brothers. The children are Mrs. William Morgan of Wiota, Mrs. Frank Estel of Atlantic, Robert and Chester Smith, at home. Mrs. A. W. Sarsfield of near Atlantic is a sister and the brothers are J. O. Fudge, local pioneer, D. E. Fudge of Madrid, Neb., and O. E. Fudge of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist church here. The Rev. Warren [H.] Meredith will officiate and burial will be in the Atlantic cemetery.
