October 16, 1968Mrs. Earl Smiley
Mildred Fudge Smiley, 2521 Amber drive NE, widow of Earl Smiley, and a Cedar Rapids resident for the last 11 months, died Tuesday following a long illness. She was born July 12, 1890, at Atlantic. Mrs. Smiley was a member of the United Methodist church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Howard C. Williams, with whom she made her home; Mrs. Hubert Rees of Boone, and Mrs. Keith Wilbur of Omaha; a brother, Robert Fudge, of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Irving Foster of Des Moines, and Mrs. E. C. Shaw of Indianola; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The body was taken from the Turner chapel east to Brandt funeral home at Dallas Center, where services and burial will be Friday afternoon.
