SUSAN L. WORTHING
Susan L. Collins Worthing was born June 14, 1872 at Cumberland, Ia., daughter of John A. and Mary Jane Collins, and died April 20, 1949 in Mitchell at the age of 76.
She was brought up in the Baptist church from childhood.
On May 17, 1893 she was married to Fred P. Worthing. To this union three children were born Forrest V. and Florence (Mrs. Joseph Findley) of Mitchell and Byron L. of Hillsboro, Ore.
After moving to Mitchell in 1905, she became a member of the First Methodist church. She was superintendent of the cradle roll department for a number of years.
Mrs. Worthing is survived by her husband, three children, one sister, Mrs. Fred Kerrick of Alameda, Calif.; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Methodist church with Rev. Lochridge officiating.
A quartet, Warren Colberg, Myron Osterberg, Eugene Kuypers, Robert Franklin, sang, accompanied by Mrs. L. H. Raber at the organ.
Pallbearers were R. W. Wickett, Leonard Young, Lee Toomey, Fred Carlson, Marvin Bauer and P. J. Pooley.
