CHAS. OSTRANDER DIES IN PASADENA

WORD SENT TO THIS CITY

Deceased Was a Former Resident Here and His Widow is a Niece of F. H. Durr

Word reached this city this morning announcing the death of Chas. Ostrander at Pasadena, California on April 17th. Mr. Ostrander has been suffering with consumption and had been in failing health for the past five years. Mrs. Ostrander is a nice [niece] of F. H. Durr of this city. The deceased was a former resident of this city, operating a bottling works here for about three years. He leaves a wife and two children. The body was buried in Pasadena.

CHAS. OSTRANDER IS DEAD

FORMER WELL KNOWN RESIDENT OF THIS CITY PASSES AWAY AT PASADENA, CALIF.

Was About Thirty-five Years of Age—Left Here Twelve Years Ago—Leaves Wife and Two Children.

The word has been received here that Chas. Ostrander, formerly well known in this city, died on the 17th of April at Pasadena, Calif., of consumption, from which he had been a sufferer for four years. The deceased had been very low for some time and his death was not unexpected by the relatives here.

Mr. Ostrander was about thirty-five years of age and for a number of years was a resident of this city, being in the business of manufacturing soda pop. He left here some twelve years ago. During his residence here he was prominent in musical circles and was a member of the Atlantic band. He leaves his wife, who was Miss Emma Saxe, and two daughters, one thirteen years old and one six. The funeral was held and the interment made at Pasadena. Deceased was a native of Lebanon, Mo., from which place he came to this city.

The many friends here who knew him will be saddened by the news of Mr. Ostrander’s death.
