Andrew Shoemaker died at his home in the eastern part of this city Saturday evening aged 67 years. Short funeral services were held this morning at 10 o’clock from the Congregational church and the remains were taken to Wiota for interment in the Wiota cemetery. Mr. Shoemaker moved to Atlantic from Wiota about two months ago and had just finished fixing up his home here. He was among the old residents in the Wiota neighborhood where he was highly esteemed. He was a veteran of the civil war having served in the 31st Iowa. He leaves a wife, a number of children and grandchildren and many friends who mourn his loss.
