Margaret Malone, 86, Cass Native, Dies Saturday

Mrs Margaret E. Malone, 86, wife of the late Sylvester (Bay) Malone and a resident of 606 Locust street, died at 11:30 Saturday night at the Cass County Memorial hospital. Mrs. Malone had been in failing health two years and hospitalized since April 19.

She was born in Wiota July 15, 1883, the daughter of Martin and Mary Montague Ruane and was married in Atlantic to Mr. Malone Feb. 18, 1914. Mr. Malone preceded her in death Sept. 11, 1945. A lifelong resident of Cass county, she had resided in Atlantic since 1951 and was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church and the Altar and Rosary society.

Surviving are a son, Richard M. Malone of Atlantic; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Cox, Fremont, Nebr.; seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a son, F. Howard Malone; as sister, Mary Jane Ruane and a brother, Frank Ruane.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church. Msgr. Bart Kane officiating. The Rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock this evening at the Roland funeral home and burial will be in the Atlantic Catholic cemetery.
