MRS. M. S. FUDGE DIES HERE TODAY

Well Known Woman Succumbs Just Three Months After Death of Husband.

Mrs. Melvin [Melvina] Beath Fudge, 86, widow of the late Martin S. Fudge, who died three months ago today, passed away this morning at 5:45 at the home of her son, Marion A. Fudge, four miles west of Atlantic. Death was due to old age. Mrs. Fudge had been in failing health since the death of her husband and bedfast the last two weeks.

She was born Feb. 18, 1843, in Ohio. She was married at Beloit, Kas., to Martin S. Fudge Sept. 10, 1874. For some years she lived on a farm in Shelby county and upon retiring from the farm, she and her husband lived in Harlan. In October, 1927, they moved to Atlantic, living here until their respective deaths.

Funeral Friday

Surviving are two sons, Marion A. Fudge of Atlantic, and Justice Fudge of Lorimor. Another son, Clarence, died at the age of 5 years.

Funeral services will be held at the Marion A. Fudge home Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock and burial will be in the Brighton cemetery near Marne. The Rev. William Mack of the Atlantic First Presbyterian church will officiate.
