William Thomas Trailer was born October 20, 1871. He wss [was] the eldest son of Sarah Elizabeth and William Trailer[.] His youth and manhood days were spent in this immediate vicinity. On March 18, 1896 he was married to Alice Maude Triplett also of Cass county and to their union were born two sons, now aged seven and three.
His illness was of short duration; Plural-pneumonia, with complications, ciused [caused] serious fears from the first, but some symptoms seemed to promise hope of recovery. His strength gradually failed, however, and it soon became evident that the end was near. He was conscious throughout his entire illness and fully realized his condition. When death was very near he was asked “is God with you?” Although he had no strength to speak, he whispered “yes” and in a few minutes, surrounded by relatives and friends he passed away.
His wife and two children, an aged mother, one sister and three brothers, three half sisters and two half brothers are left to mourn his untimely death.
