Nicholas Ehrman Funeral Saturday

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Roland Funeral home in Atlantic for Nicholas Ehrman, 97, of Wiota, who died Thursday at the Atlantic hospital. He had been a patient at the hospital since Jan. 20.

Dr. James Bailey, accompanied by Mrs. Meredith Walker, sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “Nearer My God to Thee.”

Casket bearers were Clyde Pratt, Fred Whitmore, Harry Whitmore, Fred Ehrman, Theo. Ehrman and Ross Kohl. Interment was in the Evergreen cemetery at Anita.

The Rev. C. L. Thomas, of Anita, officiated and burial was in Evergreen cemetery here.

Mr. Ehrman, the son of Nicholas and Susan Ruffenhaver Ehrman was born at Peru, Ill., on April 18, 1861 and came to the Wiota vicinity with his mother in 1876.

He farm [farmed] northeast of Wiota until 1916 when he moved to Wiota. For a time he stayed in Anita with a sister, the late Mrs. George Renshaw. In 1943 he moved to Wiota where he had made his home with Miss Elizabeth Ehrman.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. J. P. Metz, of Wiota and a number of nieces and nephews including Mrs. A. R. Kohl and Mrs. Clara Morgan of Anita.
