MILFORD MAILANDER IS LAID TO REST

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic for Milford Mailander, 67. Msgr. Bart Kane officated.

Mrs. Charles Sandhorst was organist and musical selections were by the church choir. Mr. and Mrs. Max Walker were in charge of the flowers. Casket bearers were Mike Mailander, Marvin Brownlee, Francis (Bud) Jorgensen, Duane Reed, Lloyd Reed and Howard Reed. Burial was in the Atlantic Catholic cemetery.

Mr. Mailander, son of Frank and Christina Herchenbach Mailander, was born in Cass County May 21, 1905, and passed away early Thursday morning, Jan. 4, at his home at 1410 Bryn Mawr, Atlantic. He lived his entire life in the Wiota and Atlantic area and was an employee of the Hoegh Oil. Co. He was married Jan. 15, 1946, to Elizabeth Kerwin at Audubon. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic church and the American Legion and was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Jane, at home; a son, William, who is attending the University of Iowa; his mother, Mrs. Christina Mailander, of Atlantic; two sisters, his twin sister, Mrs. Hilda Jorgensen of Atlantic and Mrs. Orville (Claretta) Reeves, of Denver, Colo; two brothers, Francis and Melvin both of Atlantic, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceeded in death by his father, sister, Mrs, Frank Reed, and a brother, Clifford.
