Anita Resident Dies Friday

MARIUS “MIKE” NISSAN LAMBERTSEN, 87, of Anita died early this morning at the Cass County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient since Wednesday.

The son of NIS PETER and ANNA LAMBERSEN, he was born Feb. 21, 1889, in Schleswig, Germany, and came to the United States March 19, 1890. He attended rural schools in Shelby County and was married to AGNES FREDERICKSEN March 21, 1911 in Atlantic.

The family farmed in Shelby, Audubon and Cass Counties from 1930 until retiring in 1956 and they moved to Anita the following year. Mr. Lambertsen was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita and had been a resident of Colonial Manor in Anita the last year.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. HARVEY (MURIEL) JENSEN of Anita and Mrs. EARL (ATHELEA) HEATH of Dubuque; a son, VERNON of Atlantic; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, who died Jan. 14, 1974; a grandson, LYNN LAMBERTSEN, a great-grandson, MATTHEW HEATH; his parents; two brothers, LOU and PETE, two sisters in infancy; and a nephew, BILL LAMBERTSEN, who was reared by the family.

The funeral services ill be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Roland Funeral Home, with Rev. DAVID BOONE of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita officiating. Burial will be in the Oakhill Cemetery west of Brayton.

The family will meet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday.
