If you contact Notre Dame archives they will send you the letters from PM Guthrie to the Notre Dame presidents between roughly 1873 and 1897. PM Guthrie was my great-grandfather and Thomas F. Guthrie is buried next to him in the cemetary in Carroll.There is a picture of Thomas Guthrie's wife in one of the Minneapolis papers from 1925 as being the President of the Notre Dame club or something similar. I don't have my Guthrie stuff anymore but it can be recreated. The house PM Guthrie built in 1876 still stands and looks good here in Carroll.
