Manning- Funeral services for Mrs. Anna F. Martens, 68, Manning, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning with the Rev. George Eschenbacher officiating. Burial will be in Manning Cemetery.

Mrs. Martens died Tuesday at her home in Manning following a long illness.

She was born February 1, 1891 south of Manning, the daughter of Louis Jansen and Catherine Frahm. She attended Manning schools and in 1907 married Herman Joens. They moved to Clinton where they lived for 12 years then moved back to a farm near Manning. They had two daughters. Mr. Joens died in 1931.

She married Emil Martens in 1933 and in 1944 they retired and moved to Manning where she was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the Dorcas Society of the church. She was also a Gold Star mother. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Andresen of Manning, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Carl Schrum of Manning, two stepsons Virtus Martens of Manning and Clarence Martens of Denver, 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, 10 brothers and sisters, Henry Jansen of Arion, Albert Jansen of Springfield, S. D., John Jansen of Mission, S.D., Mrs. Rose Spamer of Moab, Utah, Mrs. Freda Dunn of Portland, Ore., Walter Jansen of Medford, Ore., Rudolph Jansen of Springfield, Neb., Wilbert jansen of Soldier, Ray Jansen of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Leona Young of Moline, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a sister who died in infancy, a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Monson, a stepson, Earl Martens, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ed. Meggers.
