Funeral for Alvina Rosina Platt will be at 10:30 a. m. Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden with Pastor Alan Miller officiating. Mrs. Platt, 93, of Glidden, died Sunday, March 19, at Carroll Manor Nursing Home in Carroll, following a lingering illness. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Lidderdale. Casket bearers will be grandsons Gregg Platt, Dick Platt, Rick Schaefer, Greg Linn, Scott Schaefer and Nick Wothe. Honorary casket bearers will be Susan Schaefer, Chrystal Wothe, Amy Platt, Kimberly Platt, Jenna Schaefer, Marty Schaefer, Benjamin Platt, Ashley Platt, Cassandra Platt and Brian Platt.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. and there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 20, at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 a. m. Tuesday.

Born April 19, 1906, in Lidderdale, she was a daughter of John and Anna (Wenck) Heuton. She was baptized on May 20, 1906, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale by Pastor A. Mueller and was confirmed on March 28, 1920, by Pastor H. P. Schmidt. She attended Immanel Lutheran Schools. She was married to Harry Platt on Feb. 3, 1926, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale by Pastor Schmidt.

The Platts farmed east of Glidden until retiring and moving into Glidden. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the LWML of the church at Glidden. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, reading and quilting. Mrs. Platt is survived by a daughter, Delores Bentley, of Glidden; a son, Lowell Platt and his wife, Donna, of Glidden; four grandchildren, Susan Schaefer, Chrystal Wothe, Dick Platt and Gregg Platt; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Heuton and Helen Heuton, both of Carroll. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1973; a sister, Helen Fonken; two brothers, Clarence and Gilbert Heuton; and a son-in-law, Quinton Bentley.
