Funeral for E. D. Brady on Thursday

Manning- Funeral services will be at Sacred heart church, Manning, at 9 a.m. Thursday for Edward D. Brady, 72, retired Milwaukee railroad agent, who succumbed to a heart attack at his home here at 12:15 p.m. Monday. Requiem mass will be offered by the Rev. Fr. John Achatz. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, with Hans Claussen, W. C. Schrum, W. J. Schroeder, Paul Vollmer, Larry Polking and Henry Joens serving as pallbearers. Mr. Brady, who spent most of his life at Aspinwall, moved to Manning May 15, 1949. A son of Andrew and Elizabeth Portlau Brady, both deceased, he was born September 21, 1877, at Stone City, Iowa. He was educated at Stone City and Chicago. Prior to serving the Milwaukee railroad as station agent at Aspinwall 40 years, he taught school at Stone City nine years. He was married November 16, 1910, at Wabasha, Minn., to Rose Meyer, who survives. He also leaves five children: George, Manning; Don, Coon Rapids; Mrs. Ervin Kuhl (Margaret), Templeton; Alice, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Ronald Hiatt (Ruth), Manning, and a sister, Mrs. Susan Maloney, Chicago. Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Brady was a member of Sacred Heart church here. He had retired because of poor health, having been ill about a year. Mr. Brady had been active in Red Cross work in Crawford county.
