Manning- Funeral services for Emil Steen, 83, of Manning, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, with the Rev. Donald A. Jones, of the United Methodist Church, Manning, officiating. Mr. Steen died at St. Anthony Regional Hospital, Carroll, early Saturday morning, Nov. 27. Mrs. Judy Joens was the soloist and Mrs. Bonita Hagedorn accompanied on the organ at the services. Pallbearers were Wesley Nulle, Marvin Pfannkuch, Eddie Fischer, Ernest Ehlers, Robert Fruse and Herbert Hass. Interment was at the Manning Cemetery.

Mr. Steen was born to Henry and Rose Ehlers Steen on Feb. 7, 1893. He was united in marriage with Malinda Nulle on Jan. 28, 1920. They farmed near Manning until moving to the city about 30 years ago. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Frank (Amanda) Stoelk of Manning; a brother, Edward Steen of Manning; three nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife, on March 12 1976; a sister, Ida and a brother, Grover.
