Arion- Carl Darrell Schultz, 55, of Manning died of a heart attack late Thursday morning while driving his car near here. Mr. Schultz was alone in his car, which went off the roadway and through a ditch ending up on the railroad tracks. He was pronounced dead at the scene. State Trooper Conrad Knickman, Dunlap, investigated. Funeral rites for Mr. Schultz will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church in Manning, with the Rev. Norbert Weber, M.S. C., officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. There will be a recitation of the rosary at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning at 7:30 pm. Friday, followed by a Bible service at 8:15.

Mr. Schultz was a salesman with Fleischer Manufacturing Company of Columbus, Neb. He previously had worked for the Sioux City Iron Company for 20 years. The family moved to Manning in August, 1966. A son of Carl William and Emma Lamp Schultz, he was born at Emerson, Neb., Aug. 17, 1920. He graduated from high school at Homer, Neb., in 1938. His marriage to Dorothy Lowry took place Aug. 12, 1944. Surviving with his wife are 11 children, Including Byron, Mrs. David (Rosemarie) Jones and Rita, all of Omaha, Neb.; Kevin and Gregory of Manning; David of Denver, Colo.; Rhonda, Aaron, Tony, Johna and Terry, all at home. Mr. Schultz also is survived by two brothers, Raymond of Phoenix, Ariz., and Edwin of Los Angeles, Calif.
