Manning- Funeral mass for Billy Lee Hansen, 40, was held on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Manning, with Rev. Norbert Weber as celebrant. Burial was in the parish cemetery with nephews and cousins as pallbearers. The Rosary was prayed at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning at 7 p.m. on Friday evening, Feb. 20, and a Bible service was conducted by Fr. Weber at 7:30 p.m.

Son of Fred and Hilda Rowedder Hansen he was born Aug. 18, 1929 at Manning, and attended schools at Gray, where he graduated from high school. On Dec. 30, 1952 he was married to Maureen Avery. They lived in Jessup, Kiron, Waterloo, Iowa; Tuscon, Ariz.; and Manning. The past few years the family lived at Granger. Mr. Hansen was employed as an accountant for the Iowa State Tax Commission. He entered Methodist Hospital in Des Moines ten days ago, and died there on Thursday morning, Feb. 19. He is survived by his wife and five children: Jacqueline, 14; Michael, 12; John, 10, Jennifer, 9 and Hildie Lynn, 8; his mother, Mrs. Hilda Hansen, Gray; and four brothers: Alvin, Audubon; Melvin and Robert of Gray, and Orrin of Denison.
