Manning- Johannes Bunz, 57, Manning business man, died Sunday after a year's illness. He was the father of Claus Bunz, Denison attorney and Elke Bunz, homemaking teacher at Carroll High School. The funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. G. B. Eschenbacher at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, at Zion Lutheran Church, with burial in the Manning cemetery. Mr. Bunz was born Jan. 20, 1906, in Rehr, Holstein, Germany, the son of Kathrina Michaelsen Bunz and Claus Bunz. He came to Schleswig in 1929 and worked as a blacksmith. He went to Manning in 1930 to go into business for himself, and developed his blacksmith shop into a prosperous implement company. His survivors include his wife; his children; a sister, Mrs. August (Helen) Ploog of Manning; three brothers, Theis, Heinrich and William, all in Germany, and a granddaughter, Sara Louise Bunz of Denison. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andreas and Claudius, in Germany.
