Harriet Dorothy Hoffman, 91, of Manning died Friday, May 9, 2008, at Manning Regional Healthcare Center.

Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manning with the Rev. Andrew Hoffmann presiding. Lector will be Ray Thielen. Eucharistic minister will be Merlyn Irlbeck. Gift bearers will be Mrs. Hoffman's nieces.

Casket bearers will be Michael Hoffman, Douglas Long, Curtis Long, Ron Long, Alan Fara and Lenus Borkowski.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at Manning.

Visitation starts at 3 and the Altar Society will lead a rosary at 4 Tuesday afternoon at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. A prayer service will be held at 7 Tuesday night at the funeral home.

A daughter of Lawrence and Clara (Zitzlsperger) Hoffman, she was born Feb. 2, 1917, near Willey, attended school in Willey then remained at home to help care for her family.

She moved to Manning in the early 1950s and continued to be a homemaker.

She moved to Manning Plaza in 1997 and was hospitalized four days before her death.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Altar Society in Manning and enjoyed cooking, baking, needlework and playing bingo.

Survivors include her four siblings: Phyllis Bluml of Dennison, Julius Hoffman and wife Ellen of Wheaton, Ill., Willie Hoffman of Manning and Marian Long of Carroll; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Miss Hoffman was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Earl Hoffman and two brothers-in-law: Leo Blunl and Ed Long.
