Frank Alvin Breckenfelder, 91, formerly of Auburn, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at Zion Lutheran Church in Auburn with Rev. Erland Asmus officiating.

Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery at Auburn.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City.

A son of Frank F. and Hilda (Hensel) Breckenfelder, he was born May 20, 1916, in rural Sac County, was baptized in 1916 at St. Peter Church in rural Sac County and was confirmed in 1931 at Peace Lutheran Church in Ulmer. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1935.

He and Opal Meyer were married Sept. 1, 1944, at Wall Lake.

Mr. Breckenfelder farmed for 60 years and was a bus driver for Lake View-Auburn Community School for 15 years until retiring in 1984.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Auburn Lions Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Joan Pearson, of Lake City; and a brother, Carl Breckenfelder, of Erhard, Minn.

Mr. Breckenfelder was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Opal; a brother, Elmer Breckenfelder; and a son-in-law, Neal Pearson.
