CLIFTON DALE "STUB" SIGLER

Clifton Dale, son of E. O. "Dick" and Belle L. (Conner) Sigler was born February 3, 1912 at Carrollton. He grew up on the farm in the Dedham and Carrollton and attended school in both Carrollton and Coon Rapids.

On May 19, 1941, Dale was united in marriage with Lula Fick at Fremont, NE. This union was blessed with one son and three daughters.

After his honorable discharge from the United States Army on June 4, 1943, Dale and Lula returned to Coon Rapids where he worked various jobs until starting his own painting business. He continued in the painting business until his retirement.

Dale was a member of the American Legion, Gurney Parker Post #357. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of his life. His family and friends enjoyed his wit and wisdom over the years.

Dale and Lula were rarely apart during their 63 years of marriage. Even though his health was declining, he was able to remain at home until entering the hospital two weeks before his death. Dale passed away on Saturday, September 11, at St Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll at the age of 92 years, 7 months, and 8 days.

Preceding Dale in death are his parents; son Maurice in infancy; son-in-law Charles Waldo, three brothers Ralph, Floyd and Wayne Sigler; and two sisters Velma Johnston and Inez Dofner.

He is survived by his wife, Lula Sigler of Coon Rapids; three daughters, Janice and husband Don Badger of Bagley; Jane Waldo of Jefferson; and Joyce and husband John Badger of Coon Rapids; seven grandchildren; Brad Badger of Lawrence , KS; Jeffrey Badger of Des Moines; Mike Caraher and wife Tanya of Ogden; Brent Badger and wife Jennifer of Bagley; Lisa and husband Doug Lange of Sacramento; Theresa and husband Troy Morgan of Northglenn, CO.; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Elwin Sigler of Lincoln, NE; one sister, Maejean and husband Daryl Baker of Coon Rapids; three sisters-in-law: Vera Mozena of Bayard; Esther Holdsworth of Altoona; and Mildred Scheffers of Newport, OR.; two brothers-in-law, Duane Fick and wife Emma of Altoona; and Howard Fick and wife Irene of Portland, OR; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services for Dale "Stub" Sigler were held Thursday, September 14 at Ohde Funeral Home in Coon Rapids with Reverend Lynn Gunderson of the First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids.

Interment was in Union Township Cemetery, near Coon Rapids.

Casketbearers were Brad Badger, Jeffrey Badger, Jamie Badger, Mike Caraher, Brent Badger, Lisa Lange, Theresa Morgan.

Honorary Casketbearers are Kamden Badger, Abigail Badger, Brock Badger, McKenzie Hull, Landen Caraher, Shawn Rice, Melissa Rice, Paige Morgan, Andrew Morgan, Jacob Badger, Benjamin Badger, Tyler Lange, Anthony Wray, Nick Cleghorn, Nathan Cleghorn and Adelissa Hull.
