April 3, 1953 - Carroll Daily Times - Requiem mass will be read at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Church for Mrs. John J. Connors, 78, who died at St. Anthony Hospital Thursday morning. The Rev. Arthur S. Poeckes will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph's cemetery. The body is resting at the Sharp Funeral Home, where the rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Members of the Christian Mothers Sodality will recite the rosary in a group at 8 o'clock Friday evening.

Mrs. Connors had been a Carroll resident nearly 50 years. The former Mary Agnes O'Boyle, she was born Sept. 28, 1874, in Clinton County, Iowa. At the age of 18 years she came to the vicinity of Vail with her parents, Frank and Mary O'Boyle.

Her marriage took place May 28, 1902, in St. Ann's Church, Vail, with the Rev. Fr. Murphy reading the nuptial mass. Mr. and Mrs. Connors celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in May, 1952. With the exception of four years in Boone, where Mr. Connors was transferred in his work with the Chicago & North Western Railway company, Mr. and Mrs. Connors have lived in Carroll, since their marriage. The family home is at 1020 Simon Avenue.

Mrs. Connors leaves her husband; two sons, Earl, Los Angeles, Calif., and Leonard, Carroll; one grandson, Tommy Connors, Carroll; four brothers and one sister: William, Patrick, Frank, John, and Anna O'Boyle, all of Vail.

A son died in infancy and a daughter, Lucille, in 1942. Two brothers and two sisters also preceded Mrs. Connors in death. She was a charter member of St. Lawrence Church, a member of the Christian Mothers Sociality of the parish and the Carroll unit, American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Connors succumbed to cerebral hemorrhage at 9:15 a.m. Thursday. She had been ill four and one-half weeks.
