December 28, 1929 - Funeral services for Nicholaus Brachtendorf will be held Monday at 9 o'clock in Ss. Peter and Paul's church and burial will be made in the parish cemetery.

Nicholaus Brachtendorf was born 76 years ago at Anschau, Kreis Mazen, Coblenz, Germany and came direct to Carroll county in the later seventies. He was married to Gertrude Giesenfeld in 1885, who preceeded him in death.

Four children survive: Peter, who lived at home with his father, Steve, Mary and Anna of Shenandoah and Randolph, Nebr.

Mr. Brachtendorf had been failing in health for some time and was removed to St. Anthony hospital Monday where he died yesterday morning. All his life was spent on a farm in Carroll county until he moved into town and made his home in Maple Park.
