Sept 9, 1920 - Carroll Times - Ferdinand Becker, one of the early residents of the city died Thursday, September 2nd, having reached the age of 77 years and four months.

He was born in Calcar, Rhein provence, Germany, May 25, 1843, and was married in Germany to Miss Antoinette Von der Grinten forty three years ago.

They came to America in 1882, located in this city and have since resided here. He worked at the barber trade until eighteen years ago when he retired from active business. Throughout his long residence in this city he was always numbered as one of its best citizens and took a great delight in its development and improvements. He was a faithful member of S.S. Peter and Paul's church.

He was the last of a family of thirteen children and leaves to mourn his loss his wife and three children, Alois F. Becker, Frank Becker, and Mrs. J.E. Hoffman, all of this city. Two children died in infancy. Funeral services were held at S.S. Peter and Paul's church and internent was made in the Catholic cemetery.
