Former Audubon County
Youth Killed By Tractor

Virgil Renshaw, 26, former Au-
dubon county resident, was killed
Sunday near Coon Rapids when
the tractor he was driving left
the road and plunged down a 10-
foot embankment.

The accident occurred about
10:30 a. m. and he died around
noon without being able to explain
the cause of the accident.

The youth was returning a
tractor that had been borrowed
for use on the Renshaw farm to
Coon Rapids when the accident oc-
curred. The Renshaw farm is
west of Coon Rapids and the acci-
dent occurred about a quarter of
a mile from town on highway 46.

Born in Viola township on No-
vember 26, 1911, the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Bert Renshaw, the fam-
ily moved a few years later to
Leroy township and returned to
Viola township in 1923. He was
graduated from the school there
and resided in that community un-
til about three years ago, when the
family moved to Coon Rapids.

Surviving besides the parents
are two brothers, Kenneth and
Russell of Coon Rapids, and two
sisters, Mrs. Sheldon Duvall of
near Audubon, and Miss Ila Ren-
shaw, at home. He was a nephew
of Mrs. Ray Johnson of Audubon.

Funeral services were held Tues-
day at 2 p. m. at the Coon Rapids
Methodist church. Burial was in a
cemetery there.
