Sept 10, 1958 - Carroll Daily Times - Arcadia - John C Wiebers, a native of Germany who had lived in the Arcadia community 72 years, died at his home 5:45 a.m. following a stroke. He has been ill since July 18. The body is at the Huffman Funeral Home in Carroll awaiting completion of arrangements.

Mr. Wiebers, son of Andreas and Antje Wiebers, was born Oct 1865 in Schleswig Holstein, Germany. Coming to the US in 1885, he settled in Carroll county. He received his schooling in Germany.

He was married to Annie Schlorholtz March 5, 1892 in the Wheatland Presbyterian Church west of Breda, with the Rev. Huendling officiating. His wife preceded him in death.

Surviving are three sons: Andrew, Ray, and Malcomb Wiebers, Arcadia; one daughter Mrs J.M. Anderson, Arcadia; and one brother, August Wiebers, Westside.

Deceased are one son, John Wiebers Jr., two children, John Tjaden and Eilert Tjaden, who were reared in the Wiebers home; three brothers: Nicholas, Claus, and Andrew; and two sisters Mrs. Dora Hoogestraat and Mrs. Aninia Meyers. Mr. Wiebers was a member of the Arcadia Presbyterian Church.
