MRS. ALICE KRIEG

Mrs. Alice Krieg, 76 of Carroll, died Monday, September 20 at the West Park Care Center in Des Moines where she had been a resident for the past seven weeks.

Mrs. Krieg formerly had been employed by the DeLuxe Cleaners and Launderers here and had worked for the Montgomery Ward store in Carroll for 20 years.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 23 at First United Methodist church in Carroll with the Rev. Ernest W. Larson officiating. Burial will be in the Carroll cemetery. Casketbearers will be members of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge. Honorary bearers will be grandsons Jeff, Kim, Bruce and Jerry Krieg.

Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 7 p.m. Wednesday. A Rebekah Lodge memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Wednesday. The casket will be moved to the church at 11:30 am Thursday to lie in state until time of services.

Mrs. Krieg is survive by three sons: Russell, Independence, Iowa, Arnold and Robert Krieg both of Des Moines, 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Leta Pauly, Portland. Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Pauline.

Mrs. Krieg was born in Carroll on May 9, 1906, a daughter of A.J. and Minnie Manekow [sic] Kotas. She was married to Arnold G. Krieg on November 28, 1928 in Carroll. She was a member of the First United Methodist church and the Rebekah Lodge, which she had served as a noble grand.

NOTES: Pauline's married name was Daeges; Minnie's maiden name was Mandelkow (misspelled in article)
