April 11, 1922 - Carroll Times - William S. Knepper, a resident of Carroll county since 1876, died at his home Tuesday morning May 9, after an illness extending over many months. Until lately, however, he was able to be about to some extent, and only a few days before his death was downtown greeting his many friends.
During his many years of residence in Carroll, Mr. Knepper made a large number of friends who greatly admired him for his sincerity, his honesty, his broad-minded views and his many other commendable traits of character.
Mr. Knepper was born in Lebanon, Pa., April 11, 1849. He was married to Miss Henrietta Nicholson, of Lynn county, Ia., May 12, 1869. They came to Carroll county in 1870, living on a farm west of town for six years. They then moved to Carroll which has continued to be their home.
Mr. Knepper is survived by his wife and two children, William Walter Knepper, of Omaha, and Mrs. Leo Knepper Palmer, of Colorado Springs, Colo. The funeral will be held at the home this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Homer S. Baumgardner will have charge of the services.
