Death of Mrs. Wenck

Mrs. Daniel Wenck passed away at the family home in Carroll Sunday forenoon. She had been ill but a short time the cause of her death being due to complications after a severe attack of grippe. She was a pioneer settler of Carroll county, formerly living in Sheridan township and the past nine years in Carroll. She was an excellent woman, a loving and kind wife and mother and a good Christian. Her death is sincerely mourned by the community. She leaves to mourn her death a husband and ten children as follows: Sophia, Lena and Anna of Carroll; Mrs. D. Juergens, Mrs. A.W. Rocksten, Mrs. G.A. Steigerwalt, John, Dan J. and Frank of Glidden and Charles of Omaha. Mrs. Wenck was born and grew to young womanhood in Germany.
She was married there to Daniel Wenck in 1867 and came to this country shortly afterwards. They located in Sheridan township in 1877. The funeral services were held from the Lutheran church in Carroll Wednesday afternoon and interment made in the Carroll cemetery. The sympathy of the community is with the bereaved family in their loss.
