Dec 7, 1978 - Carroll Daily Times - Mrs. Nan Rid Ralph, 97, of Carroll died Wednesday Dec. 6, at the Carroll Manor where she had made her home for the past several years. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. Rev. Allan Peterson of the United Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Carroll City Cemetery. Friends may call after 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll.

Mrs. Ralph, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Hunter) Barr, was born October 3, 1881 on the family farm southwest of Carroll. She married Truman Ralph February 17, 1909 at Carroll. She had taught in rural schools.

Mrs. Ralph was the oldest member of the United Presbyterian Church in Carroll. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Signet Chapter No. 1 of Carroll, the Presbyterian Guild, Beulah Country club, and the Rebekah Lodge of Carroll. She had been a past matron of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include two sons, John of Colorado Springs, Colo, and Raymond of Loveland, Colo.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Ralph of Webb, Iowa; several grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, two brothers, Frank and John, and one sister in childhood.
