April 21, 1954 - Carroll Daily Times - Arcadia — Final rites were held at the Huffman Funeral Home in Carroll at 2 p.m. Monday for Otto Liechti, 80, retired farmer, who died unexpectedly of a heart attack late Friday afternoon. The Rev. Walter E. Schiel, minister of the First Presbyterian Church in Carroll, officiated. Mrs. Romayne E. Huffman sang "In the Garden" and "Softly and Tenderly." Burial was in the Carroll cemetery. Pallbearers were Ernest Kroeger, Harry Grimsman, John Grimsman, Edwin Bruggeman, Harold Bruggeman, and William Boldt.

Relatives from a distance at the rites were: Mrs. William Cropper and son, Clayton, Long Valley, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Al Hansen and Mrs. Harold Lampke, Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Passick and Detlef Passick, Polk City; Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Liechti and family, Council Bluffs. Relatives and friends also attended from Newell, Nemaha, Storm Lake, Auburn, Westside, Vail, Manning, Wall Lake, Breda, Lake View, Sac City and Carroll.

Mr. Liechti is survived by his wife; a son, Walter Liechti, Arcadia; three daughters, Mrs. Otto Bruggeman and Mrs. Edwin Teague, Arcadia, and Mrs. William Walter, Wall Lake; 16 grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Hugo Liechti, Nemaha; and one sister, Mrs. Ida Micheel, Arcadia.
