April 5, 1967 - Carroll Daily Times - Funeral services for Hugo Liechti, 90, of Nemaha, were at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Farber and Otteman Funeral Home, Sac City, with burial in the Carroll City Cemetery. The Rev. Cecil Lackore, pastor of the Methodist Church of Nemaha, officiated at the rites. Pallbearers were Harold Hawks, Marvin Mooney, Duane Smith, Aubrey Sanders, Ernest Wedeking and Marvin Peters.

Mr. Liechti died unexpectedly March 30 in Tulsa, Okla., while en route home from spending the winter months in Texas. He was born Oct. 15, 1876, in Carroll County, a son of John and Carolina Lehman Liechti. He was the youngest in a family of ten children and his early years were spent on a farm near Arcadia. On May 25, 1909, he was married to Oriana Knowlton. The couple farmed in Carroll County until moving to Sac City in 1921. They lived there for a year and then moved to Nemaha, where he had lived for the past 46 years.

Surviving are two daughters Mrs. William Hansen of Storm Lake and Mrs. Lawrence Schmitz, Mt. Carmel; a son, Wilbur, of Omaha, Neb.; ten grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Mr. Liechti was preceded in death by his wife in 1931; a son Roy, of Newell, in 1963; five brothers, Ernest, Charles, John, Adolph, and Otto; and four sisters, Emma, Amalie, Mrs. Bertha Glanzman and Mrs. Ida Micheel.

Relatives and friends attended Mr. Liechti's funeral from Trenton, N.J.; Long Valley, S.D.; Chicago, Illinois; St. Paul, Minn.; Kansas City, Mo.; Omaha, Neb.; Mason City, Clarion, Burnside, Gowrie, Storm Lake, Newell, Nemaha, Early, Lake View, Glidden, Carroll, Manning, Arcadia, Westside, Vail, Winterset, and Dexter.
