March 20, 1950 - Carroll Daily Times - Miss Amalie Leichti, 88, succumbed to a stroke at 2:45 p.m. Sunday at St. Anthony hospital, where she had been a patient for a week. Her death followed a three - week illness. A Carroll county pioneer, Miss Leichti had lived in Carroll the last 29 years. She made her home with her brother, Adolph.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon at the Huffman Funeral home. The Rev. John E. Wheatley, minister of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Carroll cemetery.

Miss Liechti, daughter of John and Carolina Liechti, was born at Bern, Switzerland November 14, 1861. In 1873, at the age of 12 years, she moved to Carroll county with her parents, who settled on a farm east of Arcadia. She moved from the farm into her present home here in 1921. She had lived in Carroll county 76 years.

Survivors include two sisters: Mrs. Bertha Glanzman, Huntington Park, Calif., and Mrs. Henry Micheel, Arcadia, and three brothers; Adolph Liechti, Carroll; Hugo Liechti, Nemaha, and Otto Liechti, Arcadia.

Her parents, three brothers, Charley, John and Ernest, and a sister, Emma, preceded her in death.
