Jan 15, 1937 - Carroll Daily - Arcadia — Charles Liechti, prominent Arcadia farmer, died suddenly at his home three miles north of Arcadia at 8:15 o'clock Friday morning, following a stroke which he suffered earlier in the morning. The body was taken to the Huffman Funeral home in Carroll. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Mr. Liechti was born in Switzerland 77 years ago. When he was a young boy he came to the United States with his parents and he has lived in the Arcadia community since that time. For many years he and his family have lived on the farm three miles north of Arcadia.

Surviving Mr. Liechti are his widow, who is also a native of Switzerland, two sons, John Liechti of Arcadia and Ed Liechti of Platte S.D.; one daughter, Mrs. John Hoogestraat (Clara), Blencoe; three sisters, Miss Emily Liechti, Carroll; Mrs. Bertha Glanzman, Yankton, S.D., and Mrs. Henry Michael, Arcadia; and four brothers, Ernest Liechti, Arcadia; Adolph Liechti, Carroll; Hugo Liechti, Nemaha, and Otto Liechti, Arcadia.
