Aug 8, 1949 - Carroll Daily Times - Ernest Liechti, 92, Carroll county pioneer, died at 3:15 a.m. today in a Tryon Nursing home from complications incident to advanced age. He had been ill about 10 days. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday at the Huffman Funeral home here and burial will be in the Carroll cemetery.

Mr. Liechti was born in Switzerland June 2, 1857, and came to the United States with his parents and eight children in 1873. They settled east of Arcadia. He had lived in Carroll county since that time.

Survivors include the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Bertha Glanzman, Huntington Park, Cal.; Miss Emily Liechti, Mrs. Henry Mitchell, Adolph and Otto, Carroll, and Hugo, Nemaha.

Besides his parents, John and Caroline Liechti, two brothers, Charley and John, and a sister, Emma, preceded him in death.
