Jan 19, 1927 - Carroll Times - Miss Emma Louise Liechti was born in Oberburg, Canton Berne, Switzerland, January 10, 1856, and passed away near Arcadia, Ia. Sunday afternoon, January 16, at the age of 71 years and 6 days. Miss Liechti came to America with her parents in 1873. The family located on a farm near Arcadia where she spent all of her life, living for the past two years with her sister, Mrs. Henry Micheel where her death occurred.

She has been in failing health for some time but until two weeks ago was not seriously ill. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J Liechti, the former having passed away in 1911 and the latter during the year of 1918. The deceased had a most pleasing disposition and was always ready to give a helping hand when needed.

She is survived by three sisters and six brothers, namely, Mrs. Bertha Glossman, Yankton, S.D.; Mrs Henry Micheel, Arcadia; Miss Amelia, Carroll; Ernest, Charles, and Adolph and Otto, Arcadia; John of Sac City, and Hugo of Nemaha.

Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Micheel today, being conducted by Rev. W.H. Parker and interment made in the Carroll cemetery.
